Fill Gaps That Appear In Your Teeth

A dental bridge is a great way to replace missing teeth with a prosthetic tooth supported by implants or natural teeth. Also known as a ‘fixed partial denture,’ bridges are securely bonded in place, requiring no removal for sleep or cleaning. Filling gaps is important for both aesthetics and oral health, as missing teeth can impact speech, chewing, and cause nearby teeth to shift. Let our friendly team help restore your smile!

Perpetual Benefits of Dental Bridges

The loss of one or more teeth can significantly affect both our self-esteem and comfort. Fortunately, a dental bridge provides an excellent solution for restoring a natural-looking, comfortable smile. It not only improves the appearance of your smile but also offers lasting benefits for the health of surrounding teeth and overall jawbone well-being. In summary, dental bridges help restore the appearance of your smile, enhance oral health, and promote the strength of your jawbone.

Here Are The Main Benefits of Dental Bridges:

Renewed Confidence

The immediate advantages of dental bridges are clear—they have a profound effect on our overall well-being. By restoring a sense of normalcy, they help us feel and look like ourselves again. With dental bridges, we regain the confidence to smile and eat comfortably, bringing back a familiar, natural smile. Missing teeth can cause discomfort and make speaking or eating difficult and painful. Dental bridges provide a long-term solution to ease these challenges, offering relief for more than ten years with proper care.

Oral Health

The relationship between your teeth and their role in maintaining your facial structure is vital. Missing teeth can disrupt your bite, leaving gaps that may allow remaining teeth to shift. A dental bridge helps prevent this, acting as a barrier to stop teeth from moving and reducing the risk of issues such as decay, gum disease, jaw pain, and TMJ disorder, which are often caused by misalignment. By preserving proper dental alignment, a dental bridge supports your overall oral health and minimizes potential complications.

Maintaining Bone Density

Strong, stable teeth contribute to healthy jawbones. It’s essential to care for your jawbone in the long term to maintain ongoing oral health. A dental bridge stabilizes your dental health, slowing the rate of bone loss caused by missing teeth and helping to preserve the strength, shape, and structure of your jawbone.

Dental Bridge Costs in Wake Forest

The cost of a dental bridge can differ greatly depending on the patient. For those with standard insurance, the average cost typically ranges from $1,000 to $2,500. However, if you’re paying out-of-pocket or using out-of-network insurance, you can expect the price to fall between $3,000 to $5,000 or higher.

So, what factors influence the cost of a dental bridge?

  • The type of bridge and the materials used to create it.
  • The number of teeth that need replacing.
  • The complexity and location of the procedure.
  • The health of the teeth next to the gap.
  • The necessary supplies and equipment for your specific treatment.

It’s important to remember that no dental practice can give you an accurate quote over the phone. Since every smile is unique, the best way to get an accurate estimate is by consulting with a dentist and undergoing an oral exam. This will allow you to explore all your treatment options and receive a precise quote. If you have dental insurance, we’ll gladly provide you with a quote that you can submit to your insurer to help you determine your out-of-pocket costs before making any decisions.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are two primary types of dental bridges: permanent and semi-permanent. Also known as fixed partial dentures, these bridges are securely attached to existing teeth or implants. The difference between a bridge and a denture is simple: bridges consist only of teeth, while dentures also include pink gums along with the teeth. Since bridges are fixed, they stay in place, whereas dentures can be removed.

If you’re missing back teeth, it’s important to consult with a dental professional who can evaluate your situation and suggest the best tooth replacement options. They will help you determine the most appropriate and safe solutions for restoring your dental function and overall oral health.

Typically, you’ll need two appointments to get a dental bridge, with the entire process usually taking around an hour.

Zirconia is one of the materials commonly used to make dental bridges. If you’d like more information about the materials used in dental bridges or need tailored recommendations, feel free to contact us. We’re happy to provide detailed information to help you choose the best option for your needs.

Although the terms “crown” and “bridge” are often used interchangeably, they serve different functions. A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a damaged tooth, reinforcing and protecting it from decay. A dental bridge, however, is specifically designed to replace one or more missing teeth, closing the gaps and restoring both function and appearance.

I had a crown replaced July 2025. That tooth is ok but the one next to it has been sore and tender making chewing very difficult. The issue was not resolved after 3 follow up visits. I came to Dr. Baker on the recommendation of a friend. He and his staff were Great. He identified the issue, explained the treatment options very well and we agreed on an extraction. He was able to do it at that visit and I have been pain free first time in 7 months. Thank you Dr. Baker and staff! Everyone was great and very professional.

After some really awful dental experiences, I will admit I have dentist PTSD. After a botched root canal that had to be re-drilled out and fixed, terrible bedside manner from most dentists after that, and so many more traumatizing experiences, Im very happy to find this office. The front staff is friendly and funny! All of the staff were gentle and understanding of my fear. I never felt shame for my fear, and everything was thoroughly explained in a way that didn't scare me. 10/10 for me!! They also got me booked really quickly so I wasn't waiting months in pain!

I traveled over an hour away... I can say it was worth it! I had a great experience with Dr. Upton and his staff. I felt comfortable the entire time and the Dental Savings Plan is truly a life saver. I used to scour the web for coupons and discount apps for dental cleanings often still costing $250+ without x-rays! Fortunately this office offers a competitive program that works for my budget. I truly could not afford it any other way and it went years without a checkup or cleaning. Thank you!
