Fill Gaps That Appear In Your Teeth

A dental bridge effectively enhances the appearance and oral well-being by filling gaps with a false tooth supported by dental implants, natural teeth, or a combination thereof. Commonly known as a ‘fixed partial denture,’ bridges are securely bonded or cemented to your teeth, eliminating the need for removal during sleep or cleaning. Addressing tooth gaps is crucial, not only for aesthetic reasons but also for long-term oral health. Missing teeth can hinder speech, create challenges in chewing food, and allow neighboring teeth to shift positions. Let our lovely staff help touch up that amazing smile!

Perpetual Benefits Of Dental Bridges

The absence of a tooth or teeth can have a negative impact on our self-confidence and comfort. Fortunately, a dental bridge offers an excellent solution to restore a natural-looking and comfortable smile. Additionally, it provides long-term benefits for the health of our other teeth and the overall well-being of our jawbone. In summary, the advantages of a dental bridge include restoring our smile’s appearance, improving the health of our teeth, and promoting the strength of our jawbone.

Here are the main benefits of dental bridges:

Renewed confidence

The immediate advantages of dental bridges are undeniable, as they have an instant impact on our well-being. They restore a sense of normalcy, allowing us to feel and look like ourselves once again. With dental bridges, we can regain the confidence to smile and eat comfortably, bringing back that familiar and beloved smile. Missing teeth can be uncomfortable, and gaps can make speaking or eating challenging and painful. Dental bridges offer a long-lasting solution to alleviate the discomfort caused by missing teeth, providing more than ten years of relief with proper care.

Oral Health

The interdependence of your teeth and their contribution to your facial structure is essential. However, missing teeth can disrupt your bite and create gaps that allow other teeth to shift. Fortunately, a dental bridge acts as a barrier, preventing teeth from shifting and thereby reducing the risk of decay, periodontal disease, jaw pain, and TMJ disorder caused by misaligned teeth. By maintaining dental alignment, a dental bridge promotes overall oral health and minimizes associated complications.

Maintaining Bone Density

Healthy, stable teeth encourage healthy and strong jawbones. Making sure those bones are taken care of long term is very important to your continual oral health. Stabilizing your dental health with a dental bridge will slow the rate of bone loss from your missing teeth and result in a jawbone with strength, shape and durability.

Dental Bridge Costs In Wake Forest

The cost of a dental bridge can vary so widely from patient to patient. With normal insurance the average insurance plan is about $800-$1200. However, without any insurance in network, a number that should be expected is anywhere from $2000-$3000 or more.

The next question is, what goes into determining the cost of a dental bridge?
  • The type of bridge and the material used to make it.
  • The number of teeth that are missing.
  • The location and complexity of the procedure.
  • The condition of the teeth adjacent to the gap.
  • Supplies and equipment that are required for your specific treatment.

Remember, no dental practice can provide an accurate quote over the phone. Ultimately, your needs are as unique as your smile. It’s important to speak with a dentist and undergo an oral exam to find out all your treatment options and to receive an accurate quote. If you have dental insurance, we would be happy to supply you with a quote to submit to them so you can find out your out-of-pocket costs before you make a decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental bridges come in two main types: permanent and semi-permanent. They are also known as fixed partial dentures since they are semi-permanent and securely bonded to existing teeth or implants. Distinguishing between a bridge and a denture is simple: bridges consist only of teeth, while dentures feature the characteristic pink gums along with the teeth. The fixed nature of bridges means they remain in place, whereas dentures can be removed.

When facing the challenge of missing back teeth, it is essential to consult with a dental professional who can provide guidance and present suitable options for tooth replacement. They will evaluate your specific situation and recommend the most appropriate and safe solutions to restore your dental function and maintain overall oral health.

Usually you can expect the procedure to take 2 appointments, but with the entire process taking approximately an hour.

Although dental bridge and crown are sometimes used interchangeably in conversation, it is important to recognize their differing functions. Dental crowns are custom-made caps placed over damaged teeth, reinforcing their structure and protecting against decay. Dental bridges, on the other hand, are specifically designed to replace one or more missing teeth, effectively closing the gaps and restoring both appearance and oral functionality.

Best Dentist in the area. Great hygienists and the dentists always take the time to discuss any areas of improvement or concern. Other places I feel like they are rushing you in and out as quickly as possible. I have recommended at least 4 people to go there and they all love it. If Baker or Upton are unsure of the best course of treatment, they will call other specialists to get their opinion. My wife went to 3 other dentists before Baker, and he was able to figure out the issue after a week. I can not recommend them enough.

Highly recommend. As someone who finds dental work very aversive, Dr. Baker and Kelly were awesome. The whole team was so welcoming and the work itself was a breeze compared to previous experiences elsewhere.

Just had my second visit to Dr. Upton. On my first visit, Dr. and his assistant, Jessica, did a thorough evaluation of my situation. He asked me questions about my dental history and actually listened carefully to my concerns. Then he left to review my x-rays and options for treatment. When he returned, he gave me some options, which I REALLY appreciated. He even took into consideration my dietary habits and the fact I don't like prescription medications. Not even my physicians gave me that kind of concern!! Today I had my tooth pulled out and he took into consideration my financial situation and did it under local anesthesia, where my previous experience was done under general anesthesia. It was less expensive and totally tolerable. I'm glad that he considers the whole patient, the tolerance to pain, the budget and the treatment preferences. I also appreciate that he sat on a stool and spoke to me face to face. His office staff, Jessica, Megan and Priscilla are all equally attentive and considerate. Thank you everyone 💓! Yes, I would recommend their services to anyone in need of dental care.
